Oscillating Motion
The oscillating motion is considered to be one of the most severe conditions. The velocity of the bearing starts from 0 during each cycle which resulted into an easy damage of the oil film generated, therefore, the wearied material is easy to be accommodated and reserved into the operation mechanism The traditional ball bearing is designed mainly for rotational motion with a very small contact area under extremely high contact stress. They are, thus, unsuitable for oscillating motion because the contact area of the sleeve bearings are larger than that of the ball bearings, the sleeve bearings are generally considered to be better for this application. CSB self-lubricating bearings are the most adequate bearings for oscillating motion. With its very tough sliding surface, it generates little wear particles ensuring lower friction and there is no sticking and crasping between the contact surfaces during the operation.
